PORNOGRAPHY AND PAPER

SIR,—From correspondence we have received on the subject since your article on "Pornography and Paper" by Ronald W. Clark was published in your issue of November 21st, it would appear that some members of the public are under the impression that pornographic books are exhibited and sold at our bookstalls. We wish to state that none of our retail branches is allowed to exhibit or sell any such books, nor are they supplied with them. We shall be much obliged if you will point this out in your columns.—Yours faithfully, W. H. SMITH AND SON, LIMITED. Strand House, London, W.C. 2.
