Professor H. E. Egerton, in an interesting letter to the

Times, makes the original• suggestion That at future Imperial Conferences leaders of the Opposition should accompany the Dominion Premiers, and that, in addition, the leader of the Opposition in the British Parliament 'should also be present. The suggestion is, anyhow, well worth considering ; it would certainly make for continuity, and it is'just as important that the Oppositions of the British Commonwealth should get into personal contact as that the existing Governments should. If Mr. Ramsay MacDonald is to be Prime Minister of this country within the next few weeks, as appears probable, _surely it would have been advantageous for him to have had at first hand the views of the Dominion Premiers at the Conference on world affairs.
