[To THE EDITOR OF THE "SPECTATOR.'I SIR,—Will . you allow

me to reply to your remarks upon my letter of June 286, wherein I failed to explain clearly that numerous officers in the recent campaign were supplied with luxuries, such as Eau de Lubin and Eau de Cologne, which were sent to them by their relations in England ? I personally was requested by one cavalry officer to send him several dozen bottles, and I am personally acquainted with many ladies who sent monthly supplies of the same to their sons throughout the war. Whether these reached their destination and formed part of the impedimenta which so hampered the movements of our troops, I am unable to say, except in one instance.—I am, Sir, &c., A HOSTESS. -
