Towards a European Customs Union The European Customs Union is

active this week, meeting in Congress at the Quai d'Orsay. M. Briand, Honorary President, is not attending, but there are representatives of fourteen countries, including Great Britain, and the leadership of M. Yves he Trocquer, a former French Minister of Public Works, is producing considerable results behind the scenes. A resolution was passed appealing to European public opinion to arrest once for all the increase in tariff rates. Besides recommending a Regional Customs Union, the Congress called for an understanding about raw materials.
