Mr. James Goulston, of Old Kent Road, London, wati killed

in his balloon, while descending on the Stone Breaks Hill, Yorkshire, on Wednesday even- ing, after an ascent from the Belle Vue Gardens at Manchester.

The Australia, the first steamer direct to our Australian Colonies via the Cape of Good Hope, was to have left Plymouth on Thursday ; but in going out of the harbour, while in charge of the pilot, was driven against the pier, and according to the Post-office List, will have to go into dock for repairs. The accounts received at the Company's offices represent the damage as un- important, and the probable delay for repairs as insignificant. She takes out seven tons of letters and newspapers.
