Colonel Fuller of New York, now in London, has been commissioned by the American "Cosmopolitan Art Union" to purchase paintings for that institution, while on his visit to Europe. The Cosmopolitan Associa- tion has already bought the famous "Dusseldorf Collection" of paint- tings in New York, valued over 50,000/. ; and the number of subscribers to that remarkably successful art union, has exceeded 40,000 names. The Cosmopolitan Art Journal, published quarterly, is the special ex- ponent of the institution; and a very valuable medium of general art intelligence.
