Two important things happened in the House of Lords on

Thursday. To begin with, Lord Lansdowne made it clear that every facility would be given to passing the War Loan Redemption Bill and the Treasury (Temporary Borrowing) Bill through all their stages on Monday next, the day on which they will reach the Lords. Lord Lansdowne, however, announced that on the Temporary Borrowing Bill he would call attention to the delay of his Majesty's Government in "laying before Parliament their proposals for raising the revenue necessary for the current year, and I shall ask for information as to the date when those proposals will be made known in this House."
