TWO CORRECTIONS.

[TO THE EDITOR OP THE "SPECTATOR."] Sra,—It is the Ablongus pie which should be thrown out of the window as soon as possible, not the Gosky patties (see Spectator, February 26th, p. 822). Allow me on this occasion to join the host of careful readers who do not allow you to misquote with impunity. The late Mr. E. Lear distinctly states in his "Non- sense Cookery " (p. 78) that having compounded your Ablongusses into a pie, as per directions, and "inserted the whole carefully,"

you should "watch patiently till the crust begins to rise serve up in a clean dish, and throw the whole out of window as fast as possible."—I am, Sir, &c., Baninderry, Mullingar.
