Some of the French journals have a theory, founded, as

they assert, on observation, that coal gas is unfavourable to the spread of cholera; they even state, though this has been questioned, that in no court or passage that is lighted with gas has the disease yet appeared. It may be worth while for our medical men to inquire whether any difference has been observed in London in respect to places lighted by gas.
