Most departments of the Royal Exchange Assurance con- tributed to good results% in the Report for 1927. In particular, however, the Fire Department showed a profit, including interest, of £218,868, against £208,221 in 1926. In the case of the General Accident Account, however, the yield to Profit and Loss was only £54,529, including interest and premiums, whereas a year ago the amount transferred to Profit and Loss was £75,657. In the Life Department there was a good increase in business, which rose by nearly £200,000 to £2,064,922. The company is again paying a 27 per cent. dividend, less tax.
