A Small, Small Child. By A. Livingston Prescott. (James Bowden.)—This

is a pathetic, one might be inclined to say too pathetic, story, but for its purpose, which is well worked out. A refractory prisoner in a military prison, and a little child whose loving heart goes out to him and does not return void, are the chief characters. It is well illustrated by Mr. A. D. McCormick.
