The Patient's Dilemma

Sometimes the patient pretends to be suicidal because she thinks that that is the wish of the psychiatrist, whom she wants to please at any price. — Professor Katzenhach on suicidal tendencies.

Fact of the matter is, it's just too bad. My poor psychiatrist is hopping mad. He's turned my id and psyche inside out And finds there's nothing to complain about. The crude and blatant truth is, strange to say,

I do not want to hang myself today. I'd like to live a little more, and yet My poor psychiatrist might be upset. Psychiatrists are very, very nice. One should not spoil their fun at any price.
