Sleeping partners

Sir: I read the first paragraphs of Dominique Jackson's article on recession- hit prostitutes with mounting amazement. If 'Candy' really is plying her trade in the Brompton Cemetery then it is scarcely any wonder that business is slack. The Bromp- ton Cemetery, where I have taken my daily constitutional for some years now, probably boasts the lowest density of heterosexual males per square yard of any comparable part of London. A high-heeled voluminous- ly coiffured blonde female would stick out amongst the rent-boys, junkies and inces- sant police patrols like an erection in a nun- nery. Ms Jackson really should take Candy to one side and gently explain to her the benefits of strategic business relocation. I believe government grants are available for that kind of thing these days.
