The Cathedral Churches of England and Wales, by W. J.

Lof tie (E. Stanford), describes thirty-six cathedrals, illustrating his description in twenty-nine instances with plans. It is a pity that he did not make the number of the plans thirty, giving us one for Bristol, which, though not standing high among cathedrals, seems to need a plan as much as others which may be superior to it in beauty.
