TENNIEL'S DODO

[To the Editor of THE SPECTATOR.] SIR,—Referring to the note by Sir W. Beach Thomas in The Spectator of last week, about the source of Tenniel's drawing of " The Dodo," there used to hang in the British Museum (Natural History) a painting of the bird given by Robert Feir. I am not sure whether this was before or after the transference of the Department to CrOmwell Road, but it is many years now since I saw the picture.—Truly
