Bamber's book

Sir: As far as Christians and Christianity are concerned, Christopher Booker (9 July) should know that it is a case of gum homilies tot sententiae. So it is a bit foolish of him to get all hot under the collar just because his view of these matter happens to differ from Bamber ,Gascoigne's.

As for the book being 'a lifeless husk' (Mr Booker must be something of a sourpuss to react to it in this, way), I think it would be difficult to find a more lovely or animated treatment of so complex a subject.
