GEORGE BUBB DODINGTON.

[TO THE EDITOR OF THE " SPECTATOR.")

Iia,—In the interesting review of the Life of George Bubb Dodington which appeared in the Spectator of November 15th it was noticeable that the writer made no allusion whatever to Browning's " Parleyings with Certain People of Importance in their Day," among whom George Bubb Dodington was a prominent figure. This seemed a curious omission, for there are doubtless many who would never have heard of this enter- prising place-hunter if it were not for the poet's clever analysis of his character.—I am, Sir, &c., J. A. LESSER. 12 Belmont .4renue, Donnybrook.
