In the same spirit Mr. Vernon Bartlett analysed the present

position of the B.B.C. and our foreign propaganda, and pleaded for greater use of the Allied Governments in our midst. Again Mr. Seymour Cocks, in a well-informed speech, asked some pertinent questions about our relations with Vichy and with Russia. A full debate on war aims has not yet taken place. These speeches revealed a desire to wage war with a clearer policy and a more intelligent appreciation of the moral issues.
