SOUTH AFRICAN POLITICAL PRISONERS

SIR,—The World Campaign for the Release of South African Political Prisoners, an emergency committee set up under the auspices of the Anti- Apartheid Movement, is distributing a petition of support for the United Nations resolution demand- ing the release of political prisoners in South Africa and the abandonment of political trials. This petition is being sent all over the world and they hope to collect one million signatures.

As December 10 is Human Rights Day, they are making it the focal point in the collection of sig- natures and on that day and on the previous Satur- day they hope that their supporters will take the petition out into the streets and set up tables in shopping areas and public buildings, etc., where people can sign. Petition forms are available from their office.
