A further selection of the best and most overrated books of the year by some of the Spectator's regular reviewers and contributors.

I enjoyed Mrs Wharton's The House of Mirth (Constable), Andrew Wilson's Love Unknown (Hamish Hamilton) and Two Days in Aragon by Molly Keane (Virago), a lovely book.

I couldn't get on with that old one about the monk who is a detective.
