Almanach Hachette. (Hachette et Cie. 2 francs.)—This Almanac relieves the

gravity of its subject-matter with humorous sketches and anecdotes that its English contemporaries do not affect. And it fails to give information which in this country we consider indispensable, about sundry matters of public concern, for instance.

But it is an admirable thing in its own line. Any spare moment that may be spent on it will certainly not be wasted.
