An official order has been received in Kilkenny, directing that all individuals who have been detained in custody under the Coercion Bill, mid against whom thew ore no other charges, should be set at liberty without delay. In the county of Louth, the peasantry have commenced a formidabla resistance to the payment of the dues to the Catholic priests. One of tlw latter, who has refused to come into the terms proposed by his pa- rishioners, is not allowed to perform service in his chapel; and an empty barn, where mass was celebrated by him, was burnt to the ground.

The Recorder of Cork has sentenced William Meany, a horse-jockey, to twelve months' bard labour, for an assault on Mr. Richard Exbam and Miss Exham, by which both were severely injured. Mr. Exham and his daughter were, in consequence of a collision with this fellow, thrown with violeme from their gig, and received most serious cuts and contusiotts. A medical gentleman proved, that one of Miss Exbam's ribs was only saved fracture by the tight lacing qt. her stays.
