PICTURESQUE NORTH AFRICA. (Jarrolds. 25s.) Tins very handsome quarto, printed

in Germany, contains 240 photogravure plates of Tripoli, Tunis, Algeria, and Morocco. Not only has the camera caught, with remarkable vitality, the spirit of the landscape, but the daily life of the peoples is set before us in a series of pictures of rare interest and

beauty. Though the plates have been printed on both sides of the leaf, the reproduction is so successful as to leave no ground for criticism. Herr Ernst Kfihnel contributes a descriptive and historical introduction.
