Professor Carver, of Harvard, has pointed out that this revolution

is being aided by the new immigration laws which check the invasion of cheap labour, by Pro- hibition, by the suppression of fraudulent corporations which had almost robbed the small investor of con- fidence, and by the growth of knowledge about the benefits of capitalism. - An American said to the present writer the other day that he thought his country was within sight of the possibility of ending poverty. If this glorious thing were done by means of capitalism there would, of course, be no temptation to try any other road. Even Socialists would say that this way was good enough. Men flock to the country in which the gold mines arc known to exist, not to the country where gold has n'►t yet been discovered. We publish another article this week on the American method of doing without Soeiali i:n and without ca' canny.
