" FULL FRUIT " JAMS.

One wonders how many housewives and parents under- stand the meaning of the new labels on jam pots which state that " This jam is guaranteed to conform to the agreed full fruit standard of the Food Manufacturers' Federation." How many people know, for example, that a pot of black- currant jam so labelled is only bound to contain 30 per cent. of fruit ; and that it can contain tartaric acid and artificial colouring without any declaration to that effect ?—P.
