[TO TRH EDITOR OF THE "SPECTATOR." J

SIR,—In connection with your quotation in your issue of April 29th of the story of the last words of 011endorff, the grammarian, given in Sir Mountstuart Grant Duff's most recent " Notes from a Diary," may I send you another version told me many years ago by an old French lady which —though I cannot, of course, answer for its authenticity— seems to me still more witty P " Je m'en vais ou je m'en va, car l'un ou l'autre se dit ou se dise."—I am, Sir, &c., Tifton Court, Berks. A. M. SHARP.
