and Co.)—Mr. Holmes begins by telling the story of "Iron and Steel," describing the various processes through which the manu- facture has advanced to its present remarkable condition of efficiency. From these he goes on to treat of "Gold and Silver," and from these again to "Copper, Tin, and Zinc." The volume is full of interesting facts relating to metal-working and the great names connected with it.
