march upon Aleppo; towards which city, after the defeat described in the sixth bulletin of the Army of Egypt, HUSSEIN PACHA. had retreated. As IBRAHIM advanced, the Commander of the troops of the Sultan again retreated; and Aleppo was in consequence taken possession of, without resistance, on the 15th July. The number of killed and pri- soners are rated in IBRAHIM'S bulletin at 13,000. HUSSEIN is said to have had 36,000 men under his command at the com- mencement of the action.
