Sin,—Owing to a misprint in my letter in the Spectator of September 22nd, I appear to say that it costs nothing to carry electric energy to a distance through a why. What I wrote was, "it does not cost nothing to convey a current," &c. In fact, the cost in the shape of lost pressure, leakage, &c., is usually 5 per cent. to 10 per cent., and may be 30 per cent. of the power carried when energy is cheap.—I am, Sir, &e.,
