For years we have tried to impress upon our readers

that to respect the Sanctity of Treaties solves in essence every problem. If all nations would respect this.sanctity there would be no more wars between civilized people. We are sure in advance that the representatives of the Dominions agree with us because all their self-governing institutions are based upon the Common Law in which the sanctity of contract is inherent. The same thing may be said of America, for no student of history can have failed to notice what importance the makers of the Republic attached to the principle of sanctity of contract which they also derived from the Common Law of England.
