SIR,—Your dramatic critic, Mr. Bamber Gascoigne, is, I think, surprised
that I did not use in this play Allison Peers's translation of St. Teresa's famous hymn about the fleas.
It so happened that one of the nuns at Stanbrooke Abbey had made a new translation which she showed Dame Sybil Thorndike and which was chosen in preference to the more familiar version.
