The Secretary of State spoke at length. In regard to

the .representation of oppositions at the conference he said that the scheme was not liked in the Dominions. Much attention was given by Mr. Amery and others to emigration, which has- been hampered by bad trade, which maces only a slow absorption possible in the Dominions. This subject would be fully discussed at the conference. Mr. Amery spoke hopefully of the forth- coming conference between Indian and South African representatives upon .that most difficult question of Indians in South Africa, and also of the work of the Empire Marketing Board. The Imp. lal Conference has been postponed until October 191i, in order to give Canada a better chance of being represented with a government in power.
