Lord Sandwich, whom his Prep School knew

As Master Victor Montagu,

About the age of seven took

The name of Viscount Hinchingbroke.

And that in fact was still his name

Through years of parliamentary fame.

Then Earl of Sandwich in the Lords He sipped the joys that House affords,

But, wearying of the ermined seat,

He beat from it a quick retreat, Begging Yours Truly to remain Just Victor Montagu again, Thus ending up as he began.

The child is father of the man:
