Long live Christianity

From Rosemary Thorpe Sir: William J. Abbott says that Christianity 'is on its way to becoming a dead religion'

(Letters, 31 July). I am sick and tired of this sort of thing. In the context of the billions of years the Earth has existed. Christianity is very young. We do not even fully understand the message yet. 'Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, pray for them which despitefully use you.' Who can truly say that they've put this into practice? President Bush?
