A very handsome and complete presentation of an old favourite

is to be found in Hans Andersen's Fairy Tales, Illustrated by Helen Stratton (Blackie and Son, 5s.) Miss Stratton's pencil lends itself with much adaptability to the nature of the subjects. A child that has to do with fairies cannot look altogether like an ordinary child, and yet must not be made wholly unchildlike.
