SIR,—In your statement of the case of Mr. J. D. Beazley and his remarkable ascent of the ladder of learning, no mention has yet been made of his school-days prior to the age of ten. For the sake of completeness, it may be well to inform those of your readers who are interested that prior to the above age he was a pupil at Garnethill Public School, Glasgow, where his early promise attracted considerable notice on the part of his Head-Master, Dr. James Milligan, and of many others who knew him.
