Flying overdraft

Sir.—I would not wish to diminish the credit which 'A Spectator's Notebook' gives the the Observer for its consistent and reasoned opposition to Concord (sic Editor, Spectator). But 'Spectator' should, perhaps, read more widely. It was this newspaper which first called Concord the "Flying Overdraft" — scarcely a 'reverential' epithet.

We have consistently opposed the Concord project, and repeatedly called for it to be scrapped. Indeed, there was a time when trade unions at Filton urged their members to boycott the Sun because of our outspoken criticism.
