ROYALTY is indisposed. The influenza attacks sovereigns as well as subjects. The King, Queen, and the Dutchess of Gloucester, are all confined to the Brighton Palace by severe colds. Of course there has been no gayety, and very little company at their Majesties' dinner- table. The principal guest has been the Court doctor, Sir Henry Halford ; Lord and Lady George Seymour, Captain Paulett, Sir John Shelley, Sir Benjamin Stephenson, and Baron Gersdoff, have also received invitations during the week. The callers at the Palace are few, and not of the first grade in rank or fashion. Sir Peter Laurie, Sir Chapman Nlarshall, Captain Skipsey, and Mr. Lawrence Peel, appear to take the lead, at present, among the Blighton courtiers.
