Mr. De Valera then explained that he wished his own

motion to take the form of an amendment to the motion for acceptance. His motion or amendment, whichever one chooses to call it, was then circulated on printed slips, and Mr. Griffith, after examining the document, declared that it was not " No. 2 document" at all, as it had been greatly altered. The long dispute which followed filled up the rest of the sitting, and Mr. Do Valera's amendment had not been reached when the Dail adjourned.
