Brahms : Fourth Symphony. Karl Bohm and the Saxon State

Orchestra. (H.M.V. 33s.) THERE are at least three good earlier recordings of this sym- phony—one of them was produced only about six months ago— and this set, though good enough in the recording, it not par- ticularly exciting in the performance. The conductor is a sedate end competent musician, with little of the impulsive fire that is desirable in an interpreter of Brahms.
