Shut for the English drama, Covent Garden opened on Monday

for the German opera. We had some fears that the support of the last season was scarcely sufficient to induce the reimportation of the com- pany : in fact, it was generally understood to have been an unprofitable speculation. We hope the fact was otherwise. At any rate, here they are again ; and we bid them a hearty welcome, especially HEINE.. FETTER and STAITDIGL. They have played MOZART, WEBER, and BEETHOVEN this week ; and for the next SPONTINI'S La Vestale is announced.
