We are very glad to read General Macready's plain and

graphic account of the real situation in Ireland. We may call attention also to the vivid narrative in this month's Blackwood by the wife of one of the officers who were attacked by assassins in Dublin on November 21st last. We cannot help wondering why the Government do not make such facts widely known. The Sinn Fein propaganda, lavishly subsidized from abroad, is very active in spreading falsehoods, whereas the Irish Office panne very little news. It ought not to be left to an enterprising American journalist to extract a statement of the case from General Macready.
