The correspondent of the Times, mentioning some recent violences near

Swansea, of no great individual importance, says of the Queen's proclamation, now posted throughout that neighbourhood, that "the prevailing opinion is that it will be perfectly ineffectual, as the Welsh are so closely banded together by their sort of clanship in the Rebecca exploits, that no reward, however high, will induce them to betray one another."
