CRUELTY TO DOGS.

Sta,—If dogs must be chained, and where there is sufficient space, the most humane method is to fix one end of fence wire— say from 20 to 40 yards—to the kennel, and the other end to a tree or stake, after running it through an iron ring at the far end of the dog's chain. Tills gives him a certain amount of exercise, as well as of freedom, limited though that may be.—I
