LAMB'S RETORT TO COLERIDGE.

[To THE EDITOR OF THE "SPECTATOR."] SIR,—In his charming review of Mr. Strachey's The Adventure of Living in your last issue, Sir Herbert Warren says :— " People used to complain that the Spectator 'preached.' Some said that, like Wordsworth, another of its heroes, it 'never did anything else.'" Surely it was Lamb who said this to Coleridge.
