The Rise and Progress of Modern Football By Harms Moore.

(Bowman and Murdock. 6d. net.)—In this little pamphlet the story of Football is pleasantly and vividly told. Mr. Moore describes how football has progressed, from a rough-and-tumble game on the village green with makeshift goal-posts, to a highly organized contest between two trained teams on a ground almost as well looked after as a county cricket field. There are chapters on "The Football Association," "The English Cup," "The Football League," and the "Development of Pro- fessionalism."
