The transactions in Home Stocks, both for money and time,

hav- ing been limited, the market has been in an inactive state, and prices have shown a tendency to depression. On Monday, Con- sols, for transfer, were done at 941 ; and for the 8th of October, 94-1, 95. Yesterday they left off at 941 1. Reduced and New Three per Cents., 93 to 93k ex div. India Five per Cents. were 112k to 113 ; India Bonds, 65a. to 70s. premium. Bank Stock was 255 to 258 ; and India Stock, 220 to 222. There has been rather a better feeling in the market for Foreign Bonds and Railway Shares. In the open market, the best abort bills have been done at 11 to 11 per cent. The stock of bullion in the Bank of England is 24,072,2821.; in the Bank of France, 38,467,227/. The Government Broker has purchased 336,0001. on account of the Sinking Fund.
