Tarragon

Sir: In your 11 March issue Marika Hall' bury Tenison suggested tarragon was tingt available to be grown from seeds. 1V1,1 experience in our herb garden is that tn particular plant should be avoided at ali cost, as I believe that the species is known a,1. Artemisia dranunculoides and that Frerto tarragon, the much prized herb A. dranior cu/us, is a sort propagated by cuttings. f I made the mistake some years ago °A growing tarragon from seed and produce' an extremely vigorous, all-envel0P1 weed, and it took my gardener and MYse, many hours of hard work in the last t'si`i weeks to clear that part of the herb bal..: wonder if any of your readers have had thi' experience, and! would strongly urge these, who wish to grow French tarragon to see'', propagated cuttings from reputable her" growers.
