Wrong scoutmaster

Sir: Having sat through that awful commentary on the Royal Fireworks with mY teenage daughter picking up and enlarging on every fatuity when she wasn't in hysterics at the continuing mispronunciation of 'scouts' — it did indeed take quite some time to work out that that was the word he meant — I was delighted to find that Richard Ingrams was equally nauseated (1 August). In fairness, however, I must point out that Mr Ingrams has maligned the wrong man. Raymond Baxter was the old fool in question; Dorian Williams was being fairly harmlessly fatuous down at Althorp.
