The Emperor of Austria, as a token of his personal

satisfaction that a Concordat has been concluded with the Papal Chair, has subscribed 254,000 francs as a contribution to the monument which is to be erected on the Piazza di Spagna at Rome, in commemoration of the day on which the Papal See declared the Immaculate Conception to be one of the dogmas of the Roman Cittholic Church.— Vienna Correspondent of the Times.
